By Leonard Sweet, Ph.D.

Spiritual Living

pictureLiving An Inspired Life
By Leonard Sweet

The art of making a moment into something holy is the art of magnetizing moments with the Spirit. To make a moment is not to manufacture a moment or concoct a split-second spirituality. It is rather to identify a moment in such a way that it can be become a conscious moment, as an enjoyed moment and an enduring moment that redounds to the glory of God. When a moment is magnetized by the Spirit, it becomes whole, holy and eternal.

Prayer

pictureWhy Pray?

"We are sure of this - God listens to whatever we ask
when it's in line with His will". I John 5: 14

How do we stay connected with anyone? Communication. The more ardently and frequently it is done, the better.

What happens when we fail to communicate? We feel lost, alienated, disgruntled and generally unhappy. Failure to communicate is a major cause of divorce, family feuds, broken relationships, bankruptcy, lawsuits, and job terminations.

Sample Prayers

picture Morning Prayer

Arising from sleep, I thank You, O God, that, for the sake of Your great kindness and longsuffering, You have not had indignation against me. Neither have You destroyed me in my transgressions. But You have shown Your customary love toward mankind, and have raised me up, that I might sing my morning hymn and glorify Your sovereignty. Do now enlighten the eyes of my understanding, open my ears to receive your words, and teach me. Your commandments. To sing to You, to confess You from my heart, and to praise Your All-Holy Name: of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
